I wonder if you could help me with the following puzzle?
There is a record of the marriage of a Richard Van Riper to Helena Toers, 8/20/1803, in Essex County, New Jersey. Their daughter, Mary/Maria, married my ancestor, Peter Zeluff, in Stone House Plains, New Jersey, 6/7/1824. Their daughter, Mary Carolyn, was my great grandmother and her daughter was my grandmother, Helena Burns, who married Ernest C. Hinck, of Montclair. I would love to know if you have any knowledge of the above Richard Van Riper and might be able to tell me which Van Riper line he descended from. I seem to hit that proverbial brick wall whichever way I turn. I believe that Richard and Helena had at least one other child, Jacob Speer Van Riper, born 9/10/1804, but I have been unable to find any further information about him. Thank you for your interest.
